About White River Overland: Aspen’s Premier Van Builder
White River Overland is a premier vehicle upfitter in Aspen, Colorado. Since 2017, we’ve built custom Sprinter vans and overland vehicles designed for mountain adventures, combining functionality with premium craftsmanship.
Founded by two longtime Roaring Fork Valley locals with a passion for adventure travel, camping, mountain biking, and skiing, WRO was built to serve those who want to explore Colorado, Utah, and beyond.
Our shop—located across from the Aspen Airport—shares space with our sister company, Cracks & Racks, a trusted Aspen business of 25+ years specializing in auto glass replacement, recalibration, and vehicle rack systems.
Known locally and regionally for our high‑end van conversions and truck builds, our small, highly skilled team takes a collaborative, quality‑first approach to deliver functional, beautiful, and adventure‑ready vehicles.
What We Do
At White River Overland, we design and build adventure-ready vans, trucks, and SUVs that match your lifestyle. From full custom conversions to specialized components, every project is built with the same attention to detail, craftsmanship, and rugged capability for life in the Rockies.
We’re more than van builders, we’re problem-solvers, explorers, and outdoorsmen who understand what it takes to travel off-grid in comfort and confidence. Whether you’re chasing powder days, weekend camping trips, or full-time vanlife, our goal is to create a vehicle that feels like home wherever the road leads.
Our Services Include:
Custom Van Conversions: Complete Sprinter and Transit builds tailored to your layout, gear, and adventures.
Van Upgrades & Remodels: Electrical, lighting, cabinetry, and interior redesigns to refresh or enhance your existing build.
Off-Grid Systems: Professional installation of solar, lithium power, and Starlink for true self-sufficiency.
Suspension & Exterior Mods: From suspension kits to bumpers, roof racks, and accessories for go-anywhere capability.
Aftermarket Installations: Trusted brands installed by experts who use them every day.
Based in Aspen, Colorado, we bring mountain-tested experience and local pride to every build. Each van that leaves our shop is built to perform in the real world.
Our Build Process
-
We start by listening. Every client has a different vision. Our job is to understand your goals, your gear, and how you want to use your van 90% of the time. We’ll sketch concepts, talk through layouts, and make sure the design is built around your lifestyle.
Why it’s different:
We’re not pushing a template. We customize each build for the way you actually live and play. -
Next, we line up the details. We source high-quality components from our trusted brand partners, map out the systems and layout, and ensure every part of the build is ready to go before we touch your van. This keeps the process smooth, efficient, and avoids costly surprises.
Why it’s different:
Our planning phase saves you time and money. We treat your van like our own, which means no shortcuts or guessing along the way. -
This is where your vision comes to life. From cabinetry and wiring to finishes and storage, every cut and connection is done by hand in our Aspen shop. We pride ourselves on precision and durability, creating rigs that can handle real mountain conditions.
Why it’s different:
We combine outdoor experience with craftsmanship, so your van isn’t just pretty — it’s functional, rugged, and built to last. -
Before we hand you the keys, we test every system and feature to make sure your van is road-ready. Then we walk you through each detail, showing you how to use your new systems and make the most of your setup.
Why it’s different:
You don’t just get a van — you get peace of mind, knowing your build has been tested in the same conditions you’ll use it.
