Van exteriors

We know how important it is that your van exterior not only looks good, but can handle life on the road. Each component is carefully selected with your needs in mind so you get a van as unique as your van lifestyle. Keep reading to learn more about our van exterior services. wheels and tires

Tires can make a huge difference in handling off-road terrain and bad road conditions. We offer a large selection of van tires and will recommend the best ones for your driving characteristics. For serious off-road needs, we may also recommend upgrading to alloy wheels. Not only are these sturdier, but they look great on your van.

suspension upgrades

Converting a van adds weight, which can strain the factory suspension system, which is why most Sprinter van owners notice a decrease in handling and comfort after around 30,000 to 40,000 miles. A strained suspension can be a safety hazard, especially on high-roof vans that are top-heavy and at increased risk of rollover.

We work with Van Compass to provide suspension upgrades based on your van’s weight and expected usage. These suspension upgrades include shock tuning, strut upgrades, leaf spring upgrades, and lift kits.

Not only do these suspension upgrades make your van safer with better handling and reduced sway, but increased clearance also allows you to tackle rough terrain with improved approach and departure angles.

bumpers & recovery

Bumpers are your van’s first line of defense from animal strikes, shopping carts, and other road obstacles. Our bumper and armor systems provide full airbag, sensor functionality, and a place for additional lights. We can also outfit bumpers with winches and shackle mounts for self-rescue and recovery when faced with deep snow and soft sand.

cargo storage

It wouldn’t be an adventure if you couldn’t bring all of your toys along! During the intro call, we will discuss what sort of gear you need to carry and then we’ll work storage for it into the design. We will also discuss if you need racks for any of your other system components, such as a roof rack for mounting overhead lighting or solar panels. We can also incorporate an awning into your roof rack, giving you a place to hide from rain and hot sun and increasing your outdoor living space.

Ladders & Steps

To access roof racks and components, you will need a van ladder. We also install side bars, steps and nerf bars.  These make it easier to climb in and out of your van, offer a bit of side protection, and also give you a place to tie your dog’s leash.

Exterior van lighting

High-performance exterior lights give you the visibility you need to stay safe when driving in foggy, rainy, dark or dusty conditions. We use SAE Compliant lighting upgrades, such as the fog lights from Baja Designs, to complement factory lighting. These give you the benefits of LED technology while still being “street legal.”

We also install auxiliary lighting for outdoor living, such as RIGID Industries LED scene lights for illuminating camp at night. Our technicians are experienced with wiring these systems and are able to incorporate OEM switches for dashboard integration, or utilize more elaborate power distribution systems for on demand power and control.
